Bed/chair occupancy sensor
This sensor detects when a person leaves their bed (or chair) and can turn on a light gradually, to minimise the risk of falls. It will also set a timer running (which can be set for varying periods of time) and if the sensor fails to detect a return to bed within this time it will raise an alarm call. This alarm can either be directed to a carer, relative or to the monitoring centre. It is then possible to speak to the person via the speaker on the central Lifeline unit. The sensor can also be set to raise an alarm if a person has failed to get out of bed after a preset time in the morning or if they have failed to go to bed by a preset time. The pad can also be used with chairs and wheelchairs.
Bogus caller button
Fitted near a door the discreet button can be used to call for assistance when a stranger requests entry into the home. The monitoring centre operator can be heard which often deters potential intruders.
Carer pager and vibrating pillow pad
When a telecare sensor is activated, the Lifeline sends a signal to the transmitter, which alerts the wearer by vibrating an LED. The pager charger is required to charge the pager. The cradle also links to a vibrating under pillow alert and when the pager is in the cradle, it automatically vibrates when an alarm is raised.
Enuresis sensor
Placed between the matress and sheet, this sensor provides immediate warning on detection of moisture, allowing effective action to be taken. The sensor eliminates the need for carers to make physical checks during the night, promoting dignity and independence.
Fall detector
Tunstall's fall detector can provide valuable peace of mind by automatically detecting a serious fall and raising an alert to the monitoring centre or designated carer.
Flood detector
The flood detector will raise an alarm if sinks or baths overflow, or if a washing machine door is opened mid-cycle, protecting both people and property.
Lifeline Connect+
The Lifeline Connect+ home unit is supplied with a personal pendant, and can be used to raise a call from anywhere in the home or garden by simply pressing the pendant or red buton on the unit. Calls are received at the dedicated 24 hour response centre where the most appropriate action is taken. All you need for the service to operate is an existing telephone line and electricity point.
Sensors can be easily added to the Lifeline unit, which are connected wirelessly and unobtrusively. Lifeline Connect+ offers a wealth of unique features, make it the most advanced home telecare platform available in the world today.
Medication dispenser
Provides an effective solution to support medication compliance by automatically dispensing medication and providing audible and visual alerts to the user each time medication should be taken. If the user fails to access the medication, an alert is raised to the monitoring centre or designated carer.
Movement sensor
A wireless movement detector that can be used for both activity and inactivity monitoring, for example, to check if a person has got out of bed or visited the kitchen.
Natural gas detector
Provides an early warning of dangerous levels of gas. Can be linked to the Gas Shut Off Valve to automatically cut the gas supply off, if a leak is detected.
Property exit sensor
This alarm is designed to monitor the safety of people with cognitive impairments who are prone to leaving the house at inappropriate times of day and/or without returning home. The alarm comprises a movement sensor, door contacts and a Telecare Interface Module, which are sited above the door. During set periods of monitoring, the system is waiting for a sequence of events before raising an alarm call. The movement sensor picks up movement approaching the door and if the door contacts are then broken and the movement sensor doesn't detect the movement of a person returning inside the house after a short time, the alarm will be raised. This alarm can either be directed to a carer, relative or to the monitoring centre. The system has many benefits, primarily that of enabling people with dementia to live safely at home whilst retaining a degree of independence. It can also alleviate the emotional and physical stress of caring for someone who is prone to wandering.
Reminder messages
The reminder functionality of the Lifeline Connect+ reminds the user about key information, for example a family member can record a message to remind the user to take a particular pill at a particular time. If the user hasn’t confirmed receipt of the message, an alert will be raised with the monitoring centre, who can proactively call the user to check everything is ok.
Smoke detector
Enhanced with new features such as auto low battery reporting, only one battery for ease of management and accreditation to the very latest standard for smoke detectors.
Temperature extremes sensor
Monitors for low and high temperature extremes in addition to rate of rise of temperature. Helps minimise the risks associated with changes in temperature including the build up of heat in a kitchen and the risk of sustained periods of cold weather.
Tunstall Vega Safer Walking Technology
Tunstall is currently trialling “safer walking technology”, which allows freedom for the user to walk about in a safe environment and sends an alarm call should the user go outside a preset safe zone.
The Tunstall Vega system is designed to help organisations provide a high quality care service to people with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s or Learning Disabilities, and who may be at risk of unsafe walking, as a result of leaving their home inappropriately, or being unable to return without assistance. The system comprises a wrist worn locatable alarm device, a home base, a secure location data processing system and a 24/7 Monitoring Centre.
The Tunstall Vega system uses Assisted GPS and GSM technology and recognises when the wearer leaves a predefined “safe zone”. This will trigger an alert at the Monitoring Centre who will contact the responsible carer/organisation and assist with the provision of an appropriate response. The Vega system allows the wearer to be located and returned to safety quicker and with more dignity than is often the case with an undirected search. It correspondingly reduces the time that the wearer is exposed to risk and therefore lessens stress and the need for continuous observation.
The Vega helps to extend the time loved ones can live in their home environment by increasing their independence and security, as well as bringing peace of mind to their families and caregivers.
